G.C. Murray Honored as Recipient of the Distinguished Young Lawyer Award by the Tallahassee Bar Assn

G.C. Murray II, Esq., RPL, received the 2019 Distinguished Young Lawyer Award at the 100th-year celebration of the Tallahassee Bar Association. This award was presented to Murray by Tallahassee Bar Association President Eric Milles, Helen Ervin, and Thomas M. Ervin III.

Officially named the Thomas M. Ervin, Jr., Distinguished Young Lawyer Award, this honor is presented to a young Association member who exemplifies the contributions Tom Ervin made to the legal profession.



The Tom Ervin award goes to a Tallahassee Bar Association member who has demonstrated exceptional service to the Association, its Young Lawyer Section, and the Legal Aid Foundation. This person is someone who exhibits high standards of professionalism; and has participated in activities that promote interaction and collegiality among members.

Murray has served as Deputy General Counsel, Special Counsel, and Director of Membership at the Florida Justice Association. In addition to his work at the Florida Justice Association, Murray operates Association GC which focuses on nonprofit management and consulting.

Murray’s community leadership roles including serving as Governor for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, member of Leadership Tallahassee Class 32, and Leadership Florida Connect Class VII. Murray also founded the Innovative Community Engagement (ICE) Foundation which serves communities in Tallahassee, South Florida, Orlando, Naples, Jacksonville, and Washington D.C. The ICE Foundation provides mentorship, service, and professional development in its servicing communities.
